Mumbai Indians, the three times winner of Indian Premier League title, gave their worst performance and ended up witnessing a humiliating defeat last night. The complete team was bundled up making a score of 87 and loosing by 31 runs.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad scored their lowest total of this season by giving 118 runs as a target to Mumbai Indians. However, they were successful in not letting Mumbai Indians chase the target.
Mumbai Indians played the first innings very well and were successful in not letting Sunrisers Hyderabad score a big number.But in the second innings, Sunrisers Hyderabad turned the table upside down with their performance and won the match by 31 runs.
Disappointed by the way Mumbai Indians collapsed against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the head coach of the team Mahilla Jayawardene hit out at the players of the team, especially Hardik Pandya as the the major shock came in the form of Hardik Pandya as he scored only 3 balls that too in 19 balls.He said:
“they need to do more hard work to excel at the game. Every year you can’t bat the same way, if people don’t evolve and improve, there is no progress. Young guys like Hardik will learn that and need to work harder, the talent alone will not get you,” Jayawardene said.
Jayawardene talking about the absence of Bhuvneshwar and Stanlake. He said:
“We didn’t play with our heads today. We really didn’t have to take chances against their main bowlers. We had to knock it around and then may be couple of bowlers we could have attacked,”
Well, the fans are also very disappointed by the performance of Mumbai Indians last night’s match.
