OPINION | Kapil Dev: The greatest Indian cricketer of all time ...

Kapil Dev is one of the pioneers of pace bowling in India. There was a notion that India can’t produce good fast bowlers but Kapil proved them wrong. Wisden announced him as the Indian cricketer of the century ahead of Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar.

While most Indian fast bowlers struggled, the Haryana fast bowler got the best out of Indian pitches. He took 434 wickets in Test cricket, which was a record at that time. The Haryana all-rounder also scored 5248 runs at an average of 31.05 in Test matches.
