The current skipper of the New Zealand cricket team is the sixth one on this list. Kane took over the captaincy when he was only 21-years-old and only 332 days old in the Kingston ODI against the West Indies on 5th July 2012.




5. Prosper Utseya:

On 5th position, the former skipper of Zimbabwe Prosper Utseya became the skipper of the team for the first time when he was 21-years-old and 125 days against Bangladesh’s cricket team.

4. Tatenda Taibu:

The former wicket-keeper batsman Tatenda Taibu became the skipper of the Sri Lankan cricket team on 20th April 2004, when he was only 20 years and 342 days.

3. Anshuman Rath:

Top 6 Youngest Captains In The History Of ODI Cricket

Third on the list, is Anshuman Rath of Hong Kong Ranks. He first captained the cricket team of Hong Kong Ranks in the ODI match against Dubai on 16th September 2018, when he was only 20 years and 315 days old.

2. Rajin Saleh:

Top 6 Youngest Captains In The History Of ODI Cricket

Bangladesh’s cricketer Rajin Saleh first captained his national cricket team against South Africa on 12th September 2004, when he was only 20 years and 297 days old.

1. Rashid Khan:

The youngest captaincy feat in the history of the ODI format of the game is named after sensational Afghanistan’s all-rounder Rashid Khan. It was on 4th March 2018, when Rashid Khan first captained against Scotland at the age of only 19 years and 165 days old.
