The Yash Dhull-led Indian cricket team won the 2022 ICC U19 World Cup by defeating England by 4 wickets in the final clash in Antigua on Sunday. This was India’s record-making fifth victory in the under-19 World Cup.
All thanks to the sensational all-around show from Chandigarh boy Raj Angad Bawa, India was able to defeat England by 4 wickets in the summit clash. Bawashone with the ball with a sensational fiver (5/31) to help India bundle England out for 189 before he played a crucial knock of 35 runs, helping the Indian side chase down the target of 190 with 2.2 overs to spare.
This victory was a special one as the Indian cricket team defeated all odds to emerge victorious in the Caribbean. The Indian team was struck with Covid-19 early in the tournament, due to which captain Dhull and vice-captain Rasheed, along with a few other players had to miss a couple of matches after testing positive.

“Congratulations to the under 19 team and the support staff and the selectors for winning the world cup in such a magnificent way ..The cash prize announced by us of 40 lakhs is a small token of appreciation but their efforts are beyond value .. magnificent stuff..@bcci,” Ganguly wrote.
