'If Rohit Was Half As Fit As Kohli..." - Former Pak Skipper Mocked Rohit Sharma For His Fitness

Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt recently involved himself in a comparison involving current India captain Rohit Sharma and former Indian captain Virat Kohli. Though, he heaped praises on Rohit's performances but he also mocked him for his fitness.

Recently, during an interaction on his YouTube channel, former Pakistan captain Salman Butt was asked whether Babar and Rizwan can be compared to India captain Rohit Sharma, who is hailed as one of the best batters of modern-day cricket.

Responding to this, Butt said that while Babar and Rizwan are terrific batters, there is no comparison between them and the Indian captain. Infact, Salman Butt ended up making fun of Rohit Sharma's fitness, saying he would have surpassed Kohli if he had even half of his predecessor. He said:

Unka (Rohit) comparison nahi banta (with Babar and Rizwan). With his set of skills, Rohit ki fitness Kohli se aadhi bhi ho, toh usse zyada destructive player nahi hai. Fir uska aur sirf AB de Villiers ka match reh jaata hai, beech mein koi player nahi aata. Agar woh (Rohit) bahut fit hote Kohli ki tarah toh pata nahi wo kya karte."

(this roughly translates toRohit can't be compared with Babar and Rizwan. With his set of skills, Rohit would be the most destructive player if his fitness levels were half as good as Kohli's. Then his only match would have been AB de Villiers)

Well, this isn't the first time that someone has mocked Rohit for his fitness. From memes to jokes, every now and then we see people trolling Rohit for his fitness. And honestly, it has become sick now. Despite scaling new heights and achieving some amazing milestones through his sheer hard work and determination, people are often seen criticizing Rohit Sharma for his fitness.

It has to be noted that fitness isn't the only reason why Kohli and AB de Villiers have been successful all these years. A player needs to work hard as fitness can't guarantee success.
