"I’m certain Kohli realises..": Jacques Kallis Made A Big Statement On Virat Kohli
Team India failed to qualify for the final of the Asia Cup 2022 after a below-par performance in the Super 12 stage. Despite India's failure in the Asia Cup 2022, the Indian cricket team got a moment to cherish as India's superstar batter Virat Kohli bounced back to form and registered his much-awaited 71st century. The milestone was achieved during the Super 12 clash against Afghanistan, where he smashed an unbeaten 122 off just 61 balls. Virat Kohli emerged as the second-highest run-getter in the Asia Cup 2022.
Virat Kohli is currently with the Indian squad, which will be squaring off against Australia in the second T20I match tonight. In the first T20I match, Virat Kohli failed to leave a mark with his bat in the first T20I match against Australia as he was dismissed after scoring just 2 runs.
Meanwhile, legendary cricketer Jacques Kallis, who is currently in India, playing for the India Capitals in Legends League Cricket, talked about Virat Kohli and the criticism being faced by him. Calling it unnecessary, Kallis said:
“Every cricketer goes through a rough patch. It’s very normal. What’s important is you peak at the right time and I’m certain Virat Kohli realises what he needs to do for his team in Australia and he will be working upon that,"
Kallis also talked about India's chances in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022, which is just a month away. Speaking to the timesnow.com, Kallis said he feels that India and South Africa will be tough teams to beat in this year's edition. He said:
“India will peak at the right time. There is no point playing good cricket before a big tournament so I’m not worried about them. They have the experience of playing in high pressure tournaments. As for South Africa, the preparations are going well and it should be a great World Cup”
Further, talking about head-to-head record, India leads South Africa 4-1 in T20 World Cup. Jacques Kallis feels that the statistics could change this year. He said: “I hope South Africa can change the statistics in their favour this time around. The team is playing well.”
