In the past years, there had been rumours of Pant and Rautela having dated for a short while, after which the Delhi cricketer had blocked her. The rumours had died down soon, before Urvashi Rautela ignited those last month by alleging that Pant -"Mr RP" she referred as - had come to meet her but she couldn't and the cricketer had waited for hours but the meeting couldn't happen.

Rishabh Pant, then, was clearly unimpressed by Rautela allegedly speaking about him in such way. Pant took to his Instagram story and, without mentioning Rautela explicitly called her a liar. “It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them “merapichachorhoBehen #Jhutkibhilimithotihai.” Pant, though, took this down immediately.

The saga continued with Urvashi's reply, who trolled Pant by calling him “Chotu bhaiyaa” and a “Cougarhunter”. After this, Rautela then went to see India's Asia Cup matches in Dubai, courtesy of which again fans on social media poked fun at the duo.

Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has been included in India's T20 World Cup squad, the selectors keeping faith in the 24-year-old despite underwhelming numbers in T20Is. In the Asia Cup 2022, Pant didn't start initially, but then came in the eleven when Jadeja was ruled out due to injury. He couldn't make a big impact with scores of 14, 17 and 20*.

Before the T20 World Cup, though, Pant will have his chance to get a big knock under the belt with home white-ball matches against Australia and South Africa.
