Former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who was going through a rough form for the last few years, resumed his cricketing duties in Asia Cup 2022 following a month's break and he made a stunning return to form in the tournament as he also ended his century drought. Virat Kohli is one of the most popular cricketers on the planet, Virat Kohli has become the first cricketer ever to complete 50 million followers on Twitter. He has already gained a massive fan following on Instagram, where he currently has 211 million followers on Instagram and 49 million followers on Facebook, which takes his social media presence to over 310 million followers.

Meanwhile, talking about his performances, Kohli turned out to be the second-highest run-getter after Pakistan's opener Mohammad Rizwan in Asia Cup 2022. While the Indian cricket team failed to reach the final match of the tournament, Kohli made a blockbuster return to his form by scoring his 71st international century. While he was scoring centuries at will once upon a time, Kohli ended a long wait of 1021 days to score his 71st ton, which was also his maiden century in the shortest format of the game. He had scored his last international ton against Bangladesh in the pink ball Test match at Eden Gardens in November 2019.

During the game, Virat walked out to open the innings along with the stand-in skipper KL Rahul and took the game by storm. Virat Kohli reached the three-figure mark in 53 balls. He eventually played a blockbuster knock of 122* runs off 61 balls, including 12 fours and 6 sixes.

After his stunning performance, the former Indian captain dedicated his stunning knock to his wife Anushka Sharma, and daughter Vamika.  "I kissed my ring in the celebration as well. You see me standing here because of all the things that has been put into perspective by one person, who stood by me through all these difficult times - that's Anushka. This hundred is dedicated to her and for our little daughter Vamika as well,"
