Brett Lee Predicted The Highest Run-Getter And Wicket-Taker For T20 WC And Both Are Indians: The T20 World Cup’s Super 12 stage will kickstart on Saturday with a match between Australia and South Africa and the top cricketing countries will lock horn against each other to become world champions in the shortest format of the game. It has been five years since the last tournament was played and the fans just can’t wait for the madness to start.

The Indian cricket team will kickstart their campaign in the T20 World Cup 2021 with a high-voltage clash against Pakistan. Ahead of the tournament, the Indian cricket team impressed one and all with their critical performances as they registered two handsome wins in the warm-up matches against England and Australia.

Meanwhile, former Australian bowling legend Brett Lee believes that sub-continental teams will hold an edge in these conditions but the IPL experience will also help the cricketers from other countries. He also asserted that the Indian cricket team will remain the top contenders of the tournament.

In his column for the ICC, Brett Lee wrote:

“The teams who have had success on these wickets are generally from the sub-continent, so they normally have that advantage. But because we have just had the back end of the IPL played on these pitches, I think it brings the playing field a lot closer and both the Aussies and Proteas will be thinking that,”

He added:

“But saying that, I think India are probably the favourites with their top four or five batters and their bowling attack,”

Further in his column, Brett Lee also made a big prediction by saying that the Indian opener KL Rahul could finish the tournament’s top run-getter and also predicted that Mohammed Shami will finish the tournament with the most wickets. He said:

“I have KL Rahul down as the top run-scorer in the tournament and Mohammed Shami to be the leading wicket-taker, purely going on the last few months. So if they deliver and India have one of the leading run-scorers and wicket-takers, it’s a good start,”
