Dinesh Karthik Hints At Retirement With An Emotional Video

India's wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik took to his social media and shared an emotional post, seemingly hinting at his international retirement. He shared an emotional video, which consisted of some quality moments that he spent with his family and teammates in Australia during the marquee event.

Before the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, DK didn't even seem to be on the radar of the Indian selectors for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022, however, he made a solid comeback to present his case. His incredible performances for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) helped him get into the national setup again as their specialist finisher in the T20I format. DK was preferred over Rishabh Pant in the playing XI and the story of Karthik’s comeback to the Indian team is inspirational.

Dinesh Karthik revealed that it was his 'dream' to represent India at the biggest stage of the ICC World Cup. Having achieved his longtime goal, Karthik shared an emotional video, where he thanked each and everyone who was on the journey with him to get back to the Indian cricket team. Sharing the video, he wrote:

"Worked hard towards the goal of playing the T20 World Cup for India and it was such a proud feeling to do so... we did fall short of the ultimate motive, but it did fill my life with many memories to cherish. Thank you to all my fellow players, coaches, friends and most importantly the fans for the undying support. ♥️ #DreamsDoComeTrue #T20WorldCup"

Though, his post seemed more like a gesture of gratitude, however, the fans feel that the veteran might not get a chance to don the blue jersey again. During his stint in the T20 World Cup, he could only score 14 runs in the 22 balls that he faced at the T20 World Cup. After the conclusion of T20 World Cup 2022, DK headed back home as he wasn't named in the  Indian T20I squad for the recently concluded series against New Zealand.
