Stylish batter KL Rahul has been in a terrific form of late and has emerged out as the leading run-scorer for team India. On Monday, as the Indian cricket team locked its horns with South Africa on the first day of the second test match, KL Rahul led the Indian cricket team in the absence of regular Test skipper Virat Kohli.

The Indian side was all out for 202 on the opening day of the second Test against South Africa. While the stand-in skipper KL Rahul (50) was the top scorer for the Indian side, he received a warning by the umpire, and was asked to be a ‘little quicker’. The warning and the little conversation that followed were caught on the stump microphone.

During the first hour of the second Test match, the on-field umpire Marais Erasmus was heard giving a gentle warning to the Indian stand-in skipper.

Here’s Why KL Rahul Got A Warning From The Umpire On Day 1

Well, the incident took place during the fifth over of the first innings, South Africa speedster Kagiso Rabada came into the bowl the third ball of the over, only for KL Rahul to pull out in the last moment. It felt as if KL Rahul wasn’t ready to face the delivery and thus, stopped the bowler at the very last moment. Though, Rahul was quick to apologize for the act, but the umpire asked him to be a bit quicker.

The stump mic caught umpire Erasmus saying: “Just try and be a little quicker please KL,”. KL Rahul was instantly heard saying “Sorry”. Thankfully, the Proteas pacer didn’t show any signs of frustration and went back to bowl. The video of the same has been going viral on the internet.
