Here’s Why Virat Kohli Fans Are Angry With Gautam Gambhir

Former Indian cricketer and World Cup hero Gautam Gambhir, who is known for speaking his mind, has slammed the Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli for his behavior on-field on Day 3 of the ongoing third and final Test match between India and South Africa.

Virat, who is known for his flamboyant attitude, was enraged after South African skipper Dean Elgar was ruled out LBW by the on-field umpire, but the decision was overturned after the Proteas skipper decided to go upstairs.

The Indian camp was clearly not at all happy after Dean Elgar’s LBW was overturned following a DRS review. Following this, Virat and other cricketers were seen hitting out at the broadcaster (SuperSuport) for ‘hacking’ the ball tracking system in order to favor the home team.

First, the mic caught Ashwin as saying: “You should find better ways to win Supersport (South Africa broadcaster).” Then Virat Kohli walked towards the stump mic and said: “Focus on your team as well and not just the opposition, trying to catch people all the time.” At last, KL Rahul said: “Whole country playing against XI guys.”

Reacting to the incident, Gambhir Gambhir slammed Virat Kohli that he will never be an idol to youngsters. Speaking on Star Sports, Gautam Gambhir called Virat’s act “very immature” and also highlighted how Kohli had no problem in the first innings when he got 50-50 calls on caught behind and when Mayank was given a reprieve in the same way. He said:

Kohli is very immature. It’s worst for an Indian captain to say like this in stumps. By doing this you will never be an idol to youngsters. In the first innings, you got a 50-50 call on caught behind then you were silent and in Mayank appeal too. I think Dravid will talk to him on this topic,”

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir’s statements didn’t go down well with the fans of Virat Kohli, who started trolling the World Cup hero on the micro-blogging site.
