The much-awaited Indian team performance review meeting has finally ended in Mumbai. The meeting was attended by BCCI chief Roger Binny, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, Indian captain Rohit Sharna, head coach Rahul Dravid, NCA head of cricket VVS Laxman, and chief selector Chetan Sharma.

While discussions on multiple topics took place in the meeting, however, the BCCI has only officially revealed plans for injury and workload management. As per the statement issued by the BCCI, it was revealed that player availability, workload management, and fitness parameters were the key points of discussion alongside preparing a roadmap for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.

A major decision was also taken at the meeting that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will work closely with the IPL franchises to monitor player participation in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League as team India continues to see a major injury crisis. The BCCI stated:

"The emerging players will have to play a substantial domestic season to be eligible for selection to the national team. The Yo-Yo Test and Dexa will now be part of selection criteria and implemented in the customized roadmaps of the central pool of players. Keeping in mind the Men’s FTP and preparations for ICC CWC 2023, the NCA will work in tandem with the IPL to monitor the targeted Indian players participating in the IPL 2023,"

The ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in October-November this year. The final 15-man squad will be announced about a month before the marquee tournament.
