Michael Vaughan Trolled Team India On Their DRS Woes: There was a time when the DRS was branded as Dhoni Review system, considering the success of MS Dhoni in reviewing the decisions of the umpire. However, the definition was recently changed by former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer to ‘Don’t Review Siraj‘ after India lost two reviews in two successive overs, with the same bowler and same batsman in opposition.
Well, during the ongoing second Day Test match, Mohammed Siraj twice felt that he had hit Joe Root on his pads, and he vociferously appealed to the umpire, however, his appeals were denied by the umpire. Following this, he did everything to convince the skipper into taking the DRS but only to get disappointed as both the reviews turned out in favor of England’s skipper.
Meanwhile, on one of the occasions, Rishabh Pant tried his best to stop Indian captain Kohli from taking a review. Kohli was seen laughing before going for the review, Pant even tried to pull his hand when Kohli was about to gesture T signal but the skipper listened to Siraj and decided to go for the review.
The unsuccessful reviews stirred a lot of debate on social media and among the cricket fraternity. Among many, former England skipper Michael Vaughan took a dig at the Indian cricket team for their unsuccessful reviews.
While fans remembered Dhoni, Vaughan couldn’t stop laughing as he went on to compare the Indian side to the governments around the world. He said:
“I cry with laughter when I see them all going together. It’s a little bit like government around the world at the minute. They need changing in their parliament to make decisions on the reviews. It’s not working, they need to bring in others, they need to bring in a little more experience.”
“They made me laugh. One thing that I reckon the England side are miles better at, is reviews. If the series is decided upon better kind of smartness in reviews, then England are going to win the series,” the cricketer-turned-pundit was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
