Mohammed Siraj’s “dream delivery” to New Zealand’s star batsman Ross Taylor has become the hottest topic of discussion among cricket fans on social media and otherwise. It was a delivery that will be watched over and over again on the internet and fans will never get tired of watching that beauty by Siraj. You can watch it here,if you haven’t already. It was an absolute Jaffa.

Siraj spoke about it in a press-conference after Day 2 and said that he had set all the field for an in-swinging delivery as he was expecting a bat-pad dismissal but it came out brilliantly and turned out to be a “dream delivery” for him.

“The plan was that we had set the field for an inswing delivery and to hit the pads, but the way I was building my rhythm, I thought why not bowl an outswing. It was a dream delivery for any fast bowler,” Mohammed Siraj said in the post-day press conference.

Siraj said that after his recovery, he did a lot of practice with a single stump and he tried to get as much swing as he can.

“When I resumed training after getting injured, I did a lot of single wicket bowling with an aim to get as much swing as possible. That was my focus. As and when I would get a chance in the Test match, I had to consistently hit one area, and that’s what helps me in building my rhythm,” Mohammed Siraj stated.

Talking about his outstanding first spell in the second Test at the Wankhede stadium, Siraj said that he wanted to pitch the ball on stumps and keep hitting the same area consistently.

“I wanted to pitch it on stumps and hit one area consistently as it creates a problem for batters. The batters start leaving deliveries if you start bowling outside the off-stump. I knew I would get 3-4 overs of spell and wanted to bowl with full intensity,” Mohammed Siraj concluded.

OUR VIEW: We can’t praise that delivery enough. It was an absolute ripper and we like to call it ball of the year.

Take a bow, Mohammed Siraj.
