Rohit also formed a formidable partnership of 126-run with KL Rahul, who smashed a stunning century to set the platform for a massive total for his side. Apart from these two, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli also contributed with 42 vital learns to the team total and put on a 117-run stand with Rahul as well.
Later, after the end of the opening day at Lord’s Stadium, the ‘Hitman’ left everyone in splits with his reply to a reporter. Well, a reporter asked Rohit Sharma that if the Indian team manages to defeat England in the second Test match, it will be a wonderful thing for the whole nation as they could celebrate India’s Test match win with Independence Day on August 15.
Rohit, who wasn’t expecting this, came up with a hilarious reply. He hilariously gave the reporter a salute and admitted that if something like this happens, it would be a big thing for the Indian side.
