Shubham Gill Shared An Emotional Message For His KKR Family

The IPL’s two new teams – Ahmedabad and Lucknow have officially named their draft picks ahead of the upcoming mega-auction for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. India’s talented batter Shubman Gill has been picked by the new IPL franchise Ahmedabad.

On Friday, Team Ahmedabad announced their drafts pick where they named Hardik Pandya the captain. He was bought for INR 15 crore. Besides him, the Ahmedabad-based franchise has also picked Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan for Rs 15 crore and India’s young and talented opener Shubman Gill for INR 8 crores.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill has shared an emotional post for Kolkata Knight Riders, which was his first IPL team. Shubman was roped in by the KKR after his terrific performances at the U19 and Ranji Trophy levels. He has batted for KKR in the middle and top order and has given many amazing performances for the team, however, the young cricketer wasn’t retained by the franchise.

As he was picked by the Ahmedabad franchise, Shubman took to his social media and shared an emotional video, showing his journey with the Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise. Sharing the video, Shubman wrote: “Kolkata, you were a dream”

The post went viral in no time and was flooded with amazing reactions from the fans to it. While the KKR fans bid an emotional adieu to Shubman Gill, on the other hand, there were many who wished him luck for his future endeavors with the Ahmedabad-based franchise.

Kolkata Knight Riders’ official Instagram page also took to the comments section and posted a heartfelt reply to Shubman. KKR wrote: “Forever and always ??”

The Ahmedabad team will head into the IPL 2022 mega auction, scheduled for February 13 and 14, with a purse value of INR 52 crore.
