India’s stylish keeper-batter Rishabh Pant silenced his critics in a blockbuster way as he scored a stunning century when the Indian cricket team needed him the most. Pant showed great maturity and immense fighting spirit as he helped the Indian cricket team extend their lead in the ongoing third and final Test match in Cape Town.
He walked out to bat after the Indian cricket team had already lost the services of their veteran batters – Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane and were looking in trouble in the crucial do-or-die match of the ongoing series. But Pant didn’t let the pressure affect his game as he played his shots very carefully, while the wickets kept falling from the other end.
Coming into the game, Rishabh was under tremendous pressure due to his recent failures with the bat, there were fingers being pointed towards him and his place in the playing XI, however, Pant gave a solid reply with his bat. Just like the Gabba Test match, Rishabh once again rescued team India and rose up to the situation.
Pant reached the triple-figure in off just 139 balls, smashing 6 fours and 4 sixes in his centurion knock.
Meanwhile, recognising his ability to perform on big days, fans on social media went berserk and started applauding the brilliance of keeper-batter. Former Indian cricketer and batting legend Virender Sehwag also took to Twitter and hailed the brilliance of Rishabh Pant.
In his Tweet, Sehwag hailed Pant as one of the biggest match winners in the longest format of the game around the world. He wrote:
“Is ladke ko free hi chhod do. One of the biggest match winners in Test Cricket round the world #RishabhPant”
