Watch: Trent Boult Smashed Sixes Like MS Dhoni In Major League Cricket

“Trent Boult finishes off in style”. I bet you had never heard these words as they resemble more overly used for Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the greatest finisher of all time.

But, it was until his latest outing with the bat in the ongoing Major League Cricket where Boult smashed sixes and fours with such power and clean-hitting that even Mahendra Singh Dhoni would get a smile looking at Boult’s heroics with the bat in the last over of the MI New York’s innings against Seattle Orcas in match 15 of the inaugural MLC season at the Church Street Park in Morrisville.

Boult’s batting stance and style have often been a point of joke among the fans and the New Zealander himself because he shuffles weirdly and exaggerates his movement. But in this instance, Boult was all focused and executed his big hits against T20 death specialist Andre Tye.

Trent Boult cracked Andrew Tye for two huge sixes and a four in the last over of New York’s innings that propelled their total to 194 after they had looked to finish around 180 before the start of the last over.

First, to a delivery outside the off-stump, Boult connected well and sent it over long-on. Next, to a similar ball, Boult this time opened the face of his bat and deposited the ball just over the deep point boundary for another maximum. Then, Trent Boult got a bit lucky as an inside-edge ran for four past fine leg.

Trent Boult also shined for MI New York with the ball in hand by picking up 4 wickets, however, a thunderous century from Heinrich Klaasen, who smashed 110* off 44 balls with the help of 9 fours and 7 gigantic sixes, including three sixes in an over to Rashid Khan, Seattle Orcas defeat MI New York by 2 wickets and 4 balls to spare.
