Ishan Kishan’s dream debut: Playing international cricket for one’s nation isn’t a cakewalk for any cricketer in the world. It is a lifelong dream coming true for all those players who dons on that prestigious jersey even for once in his life.
As India is playing two series simultaneously, it flags a series of development so massive that the opportunity pool for India expands itself astronomically just ahead of the World T20 championship.
However, when the match between India and Sri Lanka kickstarted the Indian fans weren’t particularly happy about the inclusion of Ishan Kishan. Despite this being a tough choice for Dravid and company, the choice of Ishan got pretty obvious when Sanju Samson was ruled out with a knee injury.
Kishan, on the contrary, displayed exemplary character behind the stumps to challenge the supremacy of Sanju Samson. He seemed pretty decent with his keeping and also managed to effect a dismissal.
However, the dynamics of the game completely changed when Ishan walked out to bat. Chasing a deferential total of 263, India was off to a flying start, thanks to some searing pyrotechnics from Prithvi Shaw.
Kishan opened his innings with a gigantic six against De Silva, a remarkable debut to his ODI career and that too on his birthday. He hammered a swashbuckling boundary off the following delivery to leave an intimidating mark upon the bowlers.
He chronicled a remarkable half-century from just 42 balls, smashing 8 fours and 2 sixes. His acceleration helped Shikhar Dhawan to take a sturdy stance and hammer a brilliant knock for India.
