After giving a thumping defeat to Proteas at their own home, India has started the T20 series on a winning note too. The first T20 only came as an insult to the injuries of the hosts. Riding on a brilliant knock by in form Shikhar Dhawan. Shikhar Dhawan scored 72 from just 39 balls and that’s what took India to a handsome score of 203.
Besides Shikhar Dhawan no one could score big. After Dhawan it was Manish Pandey who top scored with an unbeaten knock of 29. Suresh Raina who made a comeback to the side after long time but he could only manage to score 15. The Indian Skipper, Virat Kohli scored 26 from 20 balls.
Five Wicket Haul For Bhuvi
In the bowling department it was Bhuvneshwar who was the pick of the Indian bowlers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 5 wickets for just 24 runs from 4 overs. Jaydev Unadkat, Hardik Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up one wicket each.
Although the Proteas put up a tough fight but they fell short of 28 runs. For the hosts it was Hendricks who top scored with a knock of 70.
Ever since the third Test Virat Kohli and his men have dominated the hosts. India won the 6 Match ODI series 5-1 and now they’ve started the T20 series too on a winning note.
