It would not be a surprise if dictionaries soon change the definition to Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli has indeed emerged as the best modern-day batsman and we have said this about a million times now. Today the stalwart batsman got his 34th One Day International Hundred from just his 205th game. This player is a different class altogether.
After winning at Durban and then The Centurion the action moved to Cape Town today. After India was asked to bat first by Aiden Markram, India lost Rohit Sharma without even getting a move on the scorecard. It was then about a beautiful partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli that got things underway.

Shikhar Dhawan played a very valuable knock of 76 as he stitched a partnership of 140 with the skipper. After Dhawan’s departure, the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Hardik Pandya fell in quick successions. But as wickets tumbled from the other end, Virat Kohli held his ground and smashed yet another ODI century. This is his 34th ODI century and his second in South Africa.
ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TO SACHIN’S RECORD
Virat Kohli is now only 15 centuries short of equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s world record of most ODI centuries. Sachin has 49 ODI hundreds from 463 and this young 29-year-old lad has smashed 34 in just 205. TAKE A BOW VIRAT KOHLI!

13 – AB de Villiers (98 inns)
12 – VIRAT KOHLI (43 inns)
11 – Sourav Ganguly (143 inns)

Three 100s in the last four ODI innings for Virat Kohli and in those three innings he has hit only one six. Still keeps his strike rate around 90. Incredibly smart batsman. #RSAvInd
