Twitter Hails MS Dhoni’s 100th Stumping

Cricket LoungeBy Cricket Lounge03/09/2017Updated:08/02/2023No Comments3 Mins Read

India’s wicketkeeper MS Dhoni became the first ever wicketkeeper to complete 100 stumping in One Day International (ODI) cricket. Over the years, MS Dhoni has done some spectacular things behind the stumps and stunned opposition batters with his out of the box skills.

Many cricket pundits around the world believe that Dhoni is the best wicketkeeper of all time and he has revolutionised wicketkeeping with his unorthodox technique.

When we talk about reinventing batting, we talk about AB de Villiers, who plays some of the most unorthodox and unbelievable strokes. His ability to manipulate the field and score runs all around the park, makes him the most difficult batsman to bowl to. And, this is why he has been nicknamed ‘Mr. 360 degrees’ by his fans.

Similarly, MS Dhoni has revolutionised wicketkeeping with his smartness and awareness behind the stumps. He reads the game brilliantly and makes his moves at the right time. Sometimes, he flicks the ball between his legs and catches batsmen out of their crease. He is not the most technically correct keeper, but he has own technique which is very effective.

Coming back to his 100th stumping in ODI cricket, fans celebrated his achievement on Twitter. MS Dhoni has become the first ever wicketkeeper to complete 100 stumping in ODI cricket. MS Dhoni overtook Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara who has 99 stumping to his credit in ODI cricket.

MS Dhoni is still not over and he will play many more ODIs for India. We are sure that this number will increase as Dhoni will outsmart many other batsman with his lightning fast stumping. Already, he holds the record for most number of stumping in One Day International cricket and by the time he decides to hang his boots, he will achieve a number that would be very difficult to beat.

In this post, we have listed some of the best tweets on MS Dhoni’s 100th ODI stumping here:
