The first day of the Cape Town test was really exciting and kept the fans on the edge of their seats. After the South African captain won the toss and decided to bat first, Bhuvneshwar Kumar unleashed a havoc on the Proteas.
The hosts were brought to 12/3 and India was on top of the game in the very first hour of play. South Africa bounced back a little with De Villiers and Faf Du Plessis hitting fifties but both of them perished after lunch.
The hosts only managed 286 as Bhuvi picked up 4 wickets. AB De Villiers top scored for the hosts with a brave knock of 65.
Twitter is after Kohli for poor batting performance
After the South African batting crumbled, it was time for the Indian top order to be decimated by the lethal pace attack of the Proteas. First Murali Vijay fell to Philander edging one to the slips and then Shikhar Dhawan was sent back to the pavilion by Dale Steyn who was making a comeback after an year.
Then it brought the two most trustworthy batsmen, Pujara and Kohli at the crease. Virat Kohli however couldn’t last for long on the crease and edged a delivery from Morkel to the keeper and departed for 5. As the Indian captain fell cheaply, Twitter can’t hold back its anger and is lashing out on the Indian Skipper for being dismissed poorly.
Twitter lashed out all guns blazing on the Indian captain. From trolling him for having a honeymoon period in South Africa to being angry upon him for poking into a delivery outside the off stump.
Twitter is expressing great disappointment and wrath on Virat Kohli. With 13 wickets falling on day 1 it seems that the match result could be well seen before the fourth day itself.
Here are some twitter reactions:
Virat Kohli gets out on 5 runs only. This is what happened when u forced an employee to come office during his honeymoon days.#SAvIND

I’m actually surprised at how surprised people are at this Dhawan dismissal. You should be surprised only if he bats well.

Shikhar Dhawan has already scored more number of boundaries than the runs people would have expected him to be score

If South Africa get to 300 it will be their day. Once again, the lower order is hurting India in an away Test

There is no use in having Bumrah if you can’t even manage in a way he could be brought into the attack once the tail begins.
