Australia’s swashbuckling batsman, Glenn Maxwell, played one of the best T20 knocks and scored his first T209 hundred. Maxwell opened the innings with David Warner and took no time in get going after the Lankan bowlers. Maxwell scored 145 runs off just 65 balls. He smashed 14 fours and 9 sixes in his marathon innings.

Maxwell was left out of Australia’s ODI squad and he made a strong case for himself for the upcoming series. It was a knock that had ‘Glenn Maxwell’ written all over it; unorthodox  and hard-hitting.

Maxwell is inwon for his aggressive batting, but this knock was one of the best we have ever seen from his bat. He did get lucky and got chances, but the fact that he backed himself and kept reverse-sweeping and switch-hitting the Lankan bowlers, made it so entertaining to watch.

Here, we look at some of the best tweets during and after Glenn Maxwell’s knock!

In just 8 days,SL have lost two world records-Highest ODI total (to Eng) & now highest T20I total (to Aus). Hold Test record though.#SLvAUS
