Twitter Reactions On Glenn Maxwell’s Innings

Glenn Maxwell continued in his rich vein of form as he smashed a wonderful fifty to set up the match for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Virat Kohli opted to bat first after having won the toss against KKR as the wicket was expected to slow down in the second half. RCB got off to the worst possible start as they lost both skipper Kohli and Rajat Patidar in the second over of the game.

The score was 9/2 when the ‘Big Show’ came at the crease, and he almost single-handedly took the game away from KKR with a whirlwind knock of 78. Initially, he was well-supported by Devdutt Padikkal who played the role of an anchor to perfection. After Padikkal was dismissed in the 12th over, it was the turn of AB de Villiers’ turn to join the party who stitched together a match-changing partnership of 53 runs with Glenn Maxwell.

Maxwell was finally dismissed for a wonderful 78 of 49 balls as he top-edged a pull off the bowling of Pat Cummins and was well caught at short fine leg by Harbhajan Singh. His innings set up the game nicely for RCB.

Twitter had a lot to say about Glenn Maxwell’s stupendous knock and here are some of the best reactions.

Incredibly powerful innings by #Maxwell . The switch hit six says a lot about his confidence in this season.

Well played, Glenn Maxwell. Came when #RCB was 2 down for 9 and smashed 78 runs from 49 balls including 9 fours and 3 sixes in a tough Chepauk wicket. #IPL2021 pic.twitter.com/k5nvc3z9ad
