Team India is currently locking their horns with the New Zealand cricket team on the ongoing 3rd of 5 T20I match-series. Indian vice-captain and opener, Rohit Sharma continues to hit the ball out of the park showing his brilliance with the bat in the ongoing match.

Before the match started, Kane Williamson won the toss and the Indian cricket team was asked to bat first. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave a powerful start to their side.

Rohit Sharma walked in to add another feather to his already glorious cap as he went on to become the 4th cricketer from India to reach the 10,000-run mark in international cricket as an opener. He achieved the milestone with his knock in the ongoing third T20I against New Zealand in Hamilton.

Milestone Alert – Rohit Sharma now has 10K international runs as an opener ??

Rohit Sharma became the 4th Indian cricketer after legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Virender Sehwag, and Sachin Tendulkar to reach the milestone. Rohit Sharma achieved the milestone with a glorious six in the 6th over of the innings.

As an opener for the Indian side, Rohit Sharma has played in 77 T20Is, scoring 2326* runs. In ODIs, he has scored 7148 runs in 140 matches.

In the ongoing series, Rohit Sharma failed to make it big in the first two T20Is, however, he returned with blazing guns on fire in the third T20I as he went on to give a powerful performance. He added 65 runs off 40 balls for his side, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes before he was dismissed with a catch-out from Tim Southe.

Twitter is all praises for the cricketer for his amazing performance and for his milestone as well. Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:

Mistake from Kohli, there was no need to send Shivam at number 3. It just cause the wicket of Rohit due to the pressure. This guy can not play under pressure. He’s a hitman. @ImRo45 #INDvsNZ
