India’s sensational bowler Yuzvendra Chahal has bounced back into the form and has scripted his name in the history books during the ongoing first ODI game between India and West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Yuzvendra Chahal breathed fire as he stole the show with his bowling and dismissed Nicolas Pooran, Chahal reached the landmark of 100 ODI wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. Chahal has reached the milestone in his 60th ODI for the Men in Blue.

Chahal became the 2nd leg-spinner after Anil Kumble to pick up 100 wickets in this format. Overall he became the 23rd Indian on this list. Before Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav was the last Indian to take 100 ODI wickets which took him back in January 2020 against Australia.
He now has 102 ODI wickets at an avg of 27.09. 3rd best average for any Indian bowler who has taken 100 ODI wickets. Jasprit Bumrah with 113 wickets at an average of 25.42 and Mohammed Shami with 148 wickets at an average of 25.62 are the first two bowlers on the list.
The ongoing match marked the return of the sensational ‘KULCHA’ duo (Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal). The duo had formed a formidable partnership in the year leading up to the 2019 World cup but they fell out of favor.
The match also marked Yuzvendra Chahal’s wonderful return to the team after he was sidelined briefly with the selector having overlooked him and going on to try other options. And he has made a blockbuster return to the Indian team.
At the time of writing, Chahal had picked three wickets to his name. He would be looking forward to picking up a 5-for as he is just in his 5th over.
