Nasty Pitch, Injured Batsmen

Almost every Indian batsman has taken the brunt of the nasty and dangerous behaviour the pitch at the Wanderers has been showing. We saw Murali Vijay being hit, Pujara taking a blow, Kohli being hit badly on the glove and than Ajinkya Rahane being clobbered on the elbow. The Indian batsman have bravely confronted the nasty blows that have come India’s way and despite being hurt badly they have not lost their determination and concentration.

The bounce at the pitch has been very odd and the umpires had to halt play time and again and watch the pitch. South Africa would have disappointed so far as their bowlers have not been at their best. Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli led the Indian counter attack and after Kohli got out for 41, Ajinkya Rahane, the vice captain has been the anchor of the Indian innings as India takes a hefty lead over the Proteas.
