Rohit Sharma would surely want to forget this South African tour as soon as possible. His poor form continues and he’s failed miserably besides one century in the ODI series. Today when India wanted him to lead from the front in Kohli’s absence, the acting captain failed today too.
In this crucial series decider Virat Kohli had to miss out due to a stiff back and Rohit Sharma got the responsibility to lead the side.
India would have wanted him to lead from front in the all important game but that was not to be. After South Africa won the toss and put India to bat first, Rohit Sharma yet again perished early. For the third straight time in this series Rohit Sharma was picked by Junior Dala. The captain failed and could not lead his side from front. Rohit Sharma got out for just 11 from 8 deliveries and left the team high and dry.
This series is nicely poised with both, the visitors and the hosts having won one game each. Today’s decider at Cape Town would decide the series winner. While South Africa had won the test series, India avenged the defeat by thrashing the Proteas in the ODI series by 5-1.
Now both the team would want to win the T20 series and walk away with 2 trophies.
Twitter Slams Rohit Sharma
Being the captain of the team, Rohit has big responsibilities on his shoulders today in Kohli’s absence. Rohit Sharma once again fell cheaply and Twitter isn’t sparing him. This is for the nth time that Rohit Sharma is being slammed for his poor run of form.
