Twitterati Are Disappointed With Virat Kohli’s Rare Failure

After their blockbuster win against West Indies in the recently concluded T20I series, the fans are expecting from Men in Blue to continue their winning spree in the ODI series against West Indies.

The Indian skipper led his squad from the front as he amassed 183 runs in the series including two spectacular knocks of 70* and 94*. He gave a stellar performance and was also awarded the ‘Player of the Series’ for the same.

Considering the same form that he was seen during the T20I series, fans were expecting another stellar performance from Virat Kohli in the first ODI that is taking place at Chepauk, Chennai. Kohli has an impressive record at Chepauk and for the same reason, he was touted to deliver a match-winning performance in the first of three ODI.

However, the Indian skipper delivered a flop show at Chepauk as he was dismissed by Sheldon Cottrell on the single-digit score. Virat Kohli was trapped by Sheldon’s slower ball as it went off the inside edge to topple his leg stump and he went back to pavilion on 4 runs.

This came out as a big blow to the audience as Virat Kohli has a stunning record against West Indies. He had smashed six tons in his last nine innings and the fans were looking forward to another ton from Virat’s bat. The crowd at Chepauk was left stunned with this and went silent by witnessing a rare failure of the ‘run-machine’.

Netizens were shocked as well. Fans erupted after Kohli’s uncommon failure as he has been giving consistent blockbuster performances for a long time.

Check out the reactions of Twitterati on Virat’s flop show in 1st ODI against West Indies :

Virat Kohli opened his account with a off-drive for a four.
Pollard removed the slip and had short mid-off (due to slowness of the pitch)
Kohli tried to play the ball through vacant slip cordon.
On a slow pitch, Cottrell changed his pace and dismissed the India captain#INDvWI
