The ongoing Pink test match between India and England at the Motera Stadium hasn’t been going well for England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes. The all-rounder hasn’t really been able to deliver the best of his abilities in the ongoing four-match series.
Though, he started off with the series well on a good note by playing a stunning knock of 82 runs in the first test match. Infact, during the second innings, Ben was able to pick the wicket of the Indian skipper to help England thrash the hosts by 227 runs. However, ever since then, things have gone downhill for him. He hasn’t been able to give the best of his abilities with both bat and ball in the second Test match.
And if this wasn’t it, Stokes has made things worse for himself with his on-field actions. England’s star all-rounder, Stokes who was positioned at the slip cordon, made a good effort to claim the ball. However, the umpires were not convinced and decided to go for the third umpire. The replays showed that the ball touched the ground before Stokes claimed it. As a result, the umpire gave his decision in Shubman Gill’s favor.
However, Stokes and his teammates were not happy with the decision as they claimed that the catch was ‘clean and safe’. Stokes and his teammates were not convinced with the decision as the skipper Joe Root was seen complaining to the umpire.
