Twitterati Are Trolling New Zealand Cricket Team After Their Poor Performance

The New Zealand cricket team kickstarted the ongoing five-match T20I series against Bangladesh to a worst possible note after they put up a horrendous batting show in the 1st T20I. As the match began at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, New Zealand won the toss and was elected to bat first.

However, the Kiwis never got going in the game and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. In fact, 9 of their 11 batsmen couldn’t reach the 6-run mark. Yes, you read that right. Tom Lathan and Henry Nicholls, turned out to be the joint highest scorers with 18 runs, and the rest of them failed miserably. Eventually, the New Zealand cricket team was bundled out for their joint-lowest totals in T20Is (60).

For the unversed, the Kiwis had a depleted batting order as they are missing out on their key players including the likes of Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson. However, a collapse of this level wasn’t expected from the team. The New Zealand cricket team was on the back foot straight from the third ball itself when they lost their opener Rachin Ravindra and following that they failed to get going.

Tom Blundell, Will Young, and Colin de Grandhomme also couldn’t do much and failed miserably to help their side by contributing runs. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman turned out to be the hero with the ball as he picked 3 wickets in the game. Mohammad Saifuddin, Nasum Ahmed, and Shakib Al Hasan also picked two wickets each.

Meanwhile, fans on social media were left stunned by the disappointing performance of New Zealand and started trolling them left, right and center. There were many who came up with hilarious memes and jokes.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:
