Twitterati Are Trolling Ravi Shastri For His Controversial Statements On The Ongoing Test Series

Twitterati Are Trolling Ravi Shastri For His Controversial Statements On The Ongoing Test Series: After suffering an embarrassing defeat of 36-all out in the first test match, team India made a powerful comeback in the Boxing-day test match and outperformed Australia throughout the game. Team India defeated Australia after a terrific batting display by the likes of Shubman Gill whereas the stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane gave a match-winning performance and scored a century.

It was during the 2018/19 tour of Australia when team India became the first Asian side to defeat Australia in Australia as Virat-led side won the series 2-1. Infact, when Australia visited India, the hosts won the series 2-1.

While the fans are looking forward to watching team India registering another back-to-back Test series win, on the other hand, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri has made a controversial statement mid-series.

Ravi Shastri claimed that he can’t see the feat of winning against the Australian team, both at home and away, by team India led by Virat Kohli emulated by one other Indian captain for a very long time.

“The satisfaction gained in registering India’s first series win in Australia after 71 years of heartbreak was immense.” Ravi Shastri said in the book India’s 71-Year Test: The Journey to Triumph in Australia’ which is the latest in a series of publications from the Bradman Museum.

“I can’t see Virat’s feat of winning against Australia both at home and away being emulated by another Indian captain for a very long time.”

“The great thing about success in Australia is that it doesn’t come easily. Indian teams have done well in Australia since the turn of the (21st) century, but didn’t have the depth of fast-bowling resources. That’s why this Indian team commanded respect from the hard-to-please Aussies like few others in the past.”

Well, the statement didn’t go down well with the fans, who are now trolling Ravi Shastri left, right, and center for making such a comment mid-series.
