Twitterati Are Trolling Sanjay Manjrekar After Jadeja’s Powerful Knock

Former Indian cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has sparked another controversy and has found himself at the receiving end of trolling once again. Well, the cricketer turned commentator is infamous for his controversial remarks for cricketers, especially Ravindra Jadeja,

During the 2019 World Cup, Sanjay Manjrekar had embroiled in a controversy over his ‘bits and pieces’ remarks directed towards Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The comments obviously didn’t go down well with the Indian all-rounder, who later took to his Twitter to express his disappointment. As a result, Sanjay Manjrekar was removed from the commentary panel.

Now more than a year after the incident, Sanjay Manjrekar has done it again after he was included in the commentary panel for the ongoing tour to Australia. Manjrekar was asked about Jadeja and his removal from BCCI’s panel of commentators. Talking about his exclusion he claimed that it wasn’t the first time he was removed from the panel. He said:

“Not many people know that I have been removed earlier as well. It was something I tweeted. It’s not easy, of course, but in many, I have become thick-skinned about such things,”

Though Manjrekar cleared the fact that he has no problem with Jadeja but also maintained the fact that he doesn’t prefer ‘his kind of cricketers in white-ball cricket’. He even said that big-hitter Hardik Pandya also won’t make it to his team. He said:

“My selection and thoughts are based on a principle that I have learned over the years: if you have specialists who can walk-in based on one discipline, you fill your team with those players. I do not have a problem with Jadeja; I have a problem with his kind of cricketers in white-ball cricket,”

He added:

“Even Hardik Pandya will not be in my team. They add illusory value to the team. Of course, I have always rated Jadeja highly in the Test format,”

Well, Ravindra Jadeja has given a fitting reply to the commentator and this time not with the words but with his performance on the field. Jadeja along with Hardik Pandya injected new life to the Indian batting side in the ongoing 3rd ODI match against Australia on Wednesday.

After having lost 5 wickets, the Men in Blue were struggling at 152/5 at one stage, this is when Ravindra Jadeja (66 off 50) and Hardik Pandya (92 off 76) took the matters into their own hands as the duo brought up 300 runs for India, with the last 100 runs coming from only 51 deliveries.

Infact, in the second ODI, Jadeja struck two sixes and a four in 11 balls and amassed 24 runs off 11 balls.

Meanwhile, fans on social media are leaving no stone unturned to slam Sanjay Manjrekar over his statements for both the all-rounders. Here, check out how Twitterati are slamming Manjrekar:
