Yuzvendra Chahal replaced Ravindra Jadeja: Team India and Australia are currently locking their horns in the ongoing 1st T20I match at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Riding on the powerful performance of Ravindra Jadeja, Team India posted a target of 161 runs on the scoreboard.
Though Ravindra Jadeja smashed the Australian bowlers to all the corners of the ground, however, he was hit on the head during his knock in the final over while facing the Australian Mitchell Starc. While he batted out in the last over but seems like he has faced some issues. For the same reason, Jadeja didn’t come out to the field in the second innings and Yuzvendra Chahal was named as his concussion substitute.
Meanwhile, the former Australian cricketer and their head coach, Justin Langer looked visibly upset when he was told about Chahal being the substitute by the match referee. Well, notably as no medical attention was provided to Jadeja after being hit on the head during the final over has frustrated many including Justin Langer as the inclusion of Chahal could make a huge difference in the game.
Yuzvendra Chahal, who wasn’t picked in the playing XI for the game, has been named as the concussion substitute and he made his presence felt as soon as he entered the ground.
UPDATE: Ravindra Jadeja was hit on the helmet in the final over of the first innings of the first T20I.

Langer to charge into the ground like MSD if Chahal keeps on taking wickets. #AUSvIND

So this concussion substitution was pissing off the Australian coach, Probably because Jadeja batted throughout the over after getting hit on the head, Most importantly Chahal is going to bowl, Very well for India.#AUSvIND https://t.co/1cuMFj8Ofu

Jadeja to bat. Chahal to bowl. Best of both worlds. ??
On a much serious note—hope Jadeja is okay. Concussions must never be taken too lightly. #AusvInd

I have no issue with Jadeja being substitute with Chahal. But I do have an issue with a Doctor & Physio not being present after Jadeja was struck on the helmet which I believe is protocol now? #AusvInd

Chahal comes in for Jadeja. This concussion sub rule will generate a LOT of discussion over the next few days #AUSvIND
