Muttiah Muralitharan, the legendary Sri Lankan spinner is regarded as one of the greatest spinners to have played the game. There might only be a few sportspersons, who have endured more scrutiny than Muralitharan. His bowling actions were always under frequent and intrusive analysis, but he emerged out stronger from the controversies.

With 800 test wickets and 534 scalps in one-day internationals, Muttiah Muralitharan is considered as one of the biggest assets to this game.
