After 9 months of halt, the team India resumed cricket, however, the sport has not been too kind for them. Hopes and expectations were at an all-time high on the Men in Blue, after having lost the 1st ODI, however, all hopes were shattered into pieces as the Australians outperformed India, once again, in all the departments of the game.

Though the bowling department led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami were far more upfront today as compared to the first ODI, however, they couldn’t stop the run flow. The Australian batsmen smashed the Indian bowling department to the cleaners and posted a target of 390 runs for India.

Chasing the target, Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal raced to a 50-run partnership in the first 6 overs. However, both the openers fainted soon and went back to the pavilion after scoring 30 and 28 runs respectively.

Two wickets already down in the powerplay, team India hopes depended upon skipper Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. Both the cricketers tried their best to hold the game and lead India to recovery. Kohli was only 11 runs away from his century when he was dismissed at 89 runs.

Later, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya kept the hunt alive as they added some runs briskly. Later, Ravindra Jadeja too contributed a few runs, but the required run-rate had dropped by then. The team eventually lost the game by 51 runs.

Meanwhile, by the time India lost the game, social media was already flooded with reactions from twitterati on this. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone is talking to their social media to express their disappointment over India’s defeat.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on this:

Quality of our Bowlers is unquestionable but consistency is. It was all about finding the right length in Australia that to quickly which hasn’t happened yet #AUSvIND

Smith’s second ? of the series plus some dominating stuff by Maxi took the game away from India . Virat & Rahul tried their best but some quality bowling did India . Congratulations to the Aussies on winning the match & series #indvsaus2020

Has anyone spotted any swing in Australia thus far?? Serving quarantine or something? #AudvInd

Well-deserved series win for Australia!

Out batted, out bowled and out fielded India who have looked clueless, not for the first time against a top side.

Plenty to work on for India.
