Twitterati React After Virat Kohli Became The Fastest To Score 12000 ODI Runs

Team India and Australia are currently locking their horns in the ongoing third ODI of the three-match series at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. The Virat Kohli led side has already suffered two consecutive losses in Sydney and will be keen on putting their best foot forward in order to salvage some pride.

Meanwhile, the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, who is hailed as one of the greatest modern legends of the game, has added another feather to his already illustrious cap. King Kohli recently completed 22000 runs at the international level after he slammed 89 runs in the second ODI in the steep chase. Kohli was the fastest to reach the milestone surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

Now in the third ODI against Australia, the run-machine has once again surpassed Sachin Kohli as he became the fastest cricketer in the world to score a mammoth 12000 runs in One-Day Internationals during his 242nd innings.

Well, talking about the stats, Virat is playing the 251st ODI match of his career and has an average of 60 with 43 centuries and 59 half-centuries. On the other hand, the master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar had reached the milestone in his 3000th ODI innings and was the first cricketer to do so, 17-years-ago.

Followed by Virat Kohli on the top, Sachin Tendulkar at the second spot is legendary Ricky Ponting at the third position.

It was in 2009, when Ricky Ponting became the 2nd player to achieve this milestone and he did it in his 323rd ODI match. However, he has now moved to third position all thanks to Virat Kohli. The next three players in the list are from Sri Lanka — Kumar Sangakkara, Sanath Jayasuriya and Mahela Jayawardene

Meanwhile, fans on social media were thrilled with the amazing news and are sending congratulatory messages for the run-machine- Virat Kohli.
