The Indian cricket team continued with their winning spree as they defeated Sri Lanka cricket in the third match to seal the series by 2-0 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Virat Kohli opted to bat first after winning the toss. Openers KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan set the momentum of the game by kickstarting the game and adding 110 runs. However, the wickets of both the cricketers were bundled up in quick succession.

The Indian skipper tested the middle order and gave promotion to Sanju Samson, Manish Pandey, and Shreyas Iyer. And he himself came at number 6 and achieved another milestone as he completed 11,000 runs in international cricket as a skipper.

Though Virat had an eventful evening, but it was Shardul Thakur and Manidhs Pandey who made everyone sit on the edge of their seats and took India to cross the 200 marks. The Indian cricket team set the target of 201 runs for the Sri Lankan cricket team.

Sri Lankan cricket team had a bad start of the game as the Indian bowlers were at their best too. They bundled up 2 wickets in 2 over only. Only Dhananjaya de Silva gave a brilliant performance with the bat and scored a half-century as the Islanders were bundled up for 123 in 15.5 overs.

As soon as India won the match, Twitter was already flooded with amazing reactions from the fans.

Here, check out the reactions of Twitterati on India’s thumping win against Sri Lanka:

Shardul Thakur is making most of the limited opportunities coming his way. Some crucial runs. Wickets. And while there’s a lot of cricket left today, I’m already picking him as my Man of the Match…i.e. if India wins. #IndvSL
