The Men in Blue lost the third and final match of the just-concluded three-match T20I series against Australia. The ongoing three-match T20I series was already decided in the favor of India after the Men in Blue won the first two games. Though, Virat Kohli and the team couldn’t win the last match but the Indian skipper gave a blockbuster performance.
Before the game kickstarted, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Men in Blue kickstarted the game with a bang as they clinched Aaron Finch’s wicket early in the powerplay. However, Matthew Wade formed a decent partnership with Steve Smith as they together carried the team forward.

Matthew Wade’s 80, Steve Smith’s 24, and Glenn Maxwell’s 54 runs helped the Australian cricket team post a target of 186 runs for India.
Chasing the target, India got off to the worst possible start as they lost the in-form batsman KL Rahul on 0 runs. However, Shikhar Dhawan formed a decent partnership with the Indian skipper and brought the much-needed momentum to the game before Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed on the 8th over after scoring 28 runs.
But Virat Kohli held the game strong and played a powerful knock. He smashed the bowlers to all the corners of the ground as he smashed 85 runs off 61 balls, hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes. However, Virat couldn’t take his team to the winning side. He was dismissed off an Andrew Tye delivery and following his dismissal, the wickets kept falling, and eventually team India lost the game by 12 runs.
With this knock, King Kohli became the second Indian batsman to aggregate 3,000 international runs in Australian conditions.
Meanwhile, social media was flooded with amazing reactions from Twitterati on this. From fans to cricketers, everyone took to their Twitter to applaud the performance of Virat.

Virat Kohli goes for a well made 85 in 61 balls. He accelerated really well after reaching his 50. Another masterclass in chase by him, missed his first T20i century. pic.twitter.com/vvJTNfx87r

85 off 61 for Virat Kohli – meaning his team-mates would have needed 102 off 59 between them for an India win
