Usman Khawaja Took A Hilarious Dig At Kapil Dev: Former Indian captain Virat Kohli’s form has become one of the biggest topics in the cricket fraternity, especially with the T20 World Cup 2022 just around the corner.

Kapil Dev Had Made A Bold Remark About Virat Kohli

While there is no denying the fact that Virat Kohli is one of the best players to have played the game in history and arguably the greatest batter of this generation, however, his place in India’s XI for the marquee event has come under serious doubt, considering the fact that a few other young names are waiting for a place in the squad.

With Kohli’s forms showing no sign of improvement, recently, former Indian captain Kapil Dev made a bold remark about Kohli, stating that the team should drop the batting maestro. He had said:

“Yes, now the situation is such that you might be forced to bench Kohli from T20 playing eleven. If world No. 2 bowler Ashwin can be dropped from Test side then (once upon a time) world No. 1 batter can also be dropped,”

“Virat is not batting at a level which we have seen him do over the years. He has made a name because of his performances but if he isn’t performing, then you can’t keep the performing youngsters out of the team. I want competition for places in team in a positive sense that these youngsters should try and outperform Virat,” Kapil Dev added.

Usman Khawaja Trolled Kapil Dev

Replying to an ICC post on Instagram, featuring Kapil Dev’s statement, Australian batter Usman Khawaja hit out at the comment section and took a hilarious dig at the legendary captain.

In his comment, Usman implied that the Australians will be happy if Virat is dropped as he shared Kohli’s career record in the shortest format. He wrote: “averages 50 at almost 140. Good call. Australia Agrees,” wrote Khawaja on Instagram.
