So far in his Indian Premier League career, the 26-year-old has scored 370 runs in 10 innings. He has a batting average of 41.11 and a strike-rate rate of 128.47. Venkatesh Iyer’s IPL pay has increased 40times. The Madhya Pradesh allrounder was purchased by the Knight Riders in the 2021 auction at INR 20 lakh, which was his basic price. On Tuesday, Iyer, who made his India debut in November, was retained by the Knight Riders for INR 8 crore, which is 40 times the amount he would have received in the 2021 auction.
From a historical perspective, India allrounder Hardik Pandya, who signed with the Mumbai Indians in 2015 as an uncapped player for a base price of INR 10 lakh, holds the record for the most exponential increase in value from a base price to retention fee. With INR 11 crore, Mumbai paid Hardik 110 times his 2015 price, maintaining him as the team’s second player.
