Venkatesh Iyer recently made his dream debut for the Kolkata Knight Riders team India and impressed one and all with his amazing performances. Riding on his brilliant performances for KKR in the UAE leg of the IPL 2021, where he made his debut in the cash-rich tournament, Venkatesh Iyer got his big call to debut for the Indian side.

Ahead of the 1st t20I match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Venkatesh Iyer was handed his debut cap by none other than the newly appointed T20I skipper of team India Rohit Sharma.

Playing for team India against dangerous-looking New Zealand, Venkatesh only managed to score just 4 runs in his debut match, but he later scored an unbeaten 12 runs in the 2nd match to take his team home and then smashed a 15-ball 20 in the third T20I in India’s 3-0 series win. Iyer also bowled for the first time in his career in the third T20I match and returned with impressive figures of 1-12 in 3 overs.

Later after the series win, in an interview with the Times of India, Venkatesh Iyer talked about several aspects of his cricketing life and also shared how the 3-match T20I series against the Kiwis was a memorable one for him. He said:
