South Africa’s ODI captain and one of the most attacking batsmen in the world, AB de Villiers took a very funny catch in the recently concluded T20I series between England and South Africa. South Africa came to England much before the start of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, to play an ODI series.

However, their preparation didn’t give the results they were hoping for, as they first lost the ODI series and couldn’t proceed any further than group stage in the Champions Trophy.

After the Champions Trophy 2017, South Africa stayed back in England for a T20I series and to complete their forgettable tour, they lost it as well. England turned out to be too strong for them at home.

During the second T20I, AB de Villiers, who is also one of the best fielders in the world, take one of the funniest catches you will ever see. With England needing just 13 runs off eight balls, England’s captain Eoin Morgan played a lofted drive towards mid-on where AB de Villiers was stationed.

While the catch appeared to be an easy one, AB de Villiers’ reaction told a completely different story. De Villiers had lost the sight of the ball and completely, and it luckily fell in his hands.

The replay clearly showed that De Villiers had no idea about the direction of the ball and he stood motionless even after the catch was taken. Watch it here:
