The third and final T20I between South Africa and Sri Lanka was watched by many fans across the world as AB de Villiers was making a comeback to international cricket after recovering from an elbow injury. De Villiers didn’t let his fans down and  scored his 9th T20I fifty. He batted for 44 balls and scored 63 runs.

But the match will be remembered for Asela Gunaratne’s premature celebrations that became a topic of discussion on social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter. Sri Lanka still needed a run off two deliveries to win the game, but Gunaratne believed that the job had been completed and he uprooted the stumps while celebrating.

Soon, Gunaratne’s celebrations were cut short and the match resumed. Sri Lanka won the match in the end but it was a very embarrassing moment for Gunaratne.
