The score was 64 for 4 in 16 overs when MS Dhoni came out at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. India were in a spot of bother after losing Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Manish Pandey, when MS Dhoni came out to bat.

MS Dhoni is one of the most loved and respected players in world cricket. Whenever and wherever he walks out to bat, the crowd in the stadium gives him a great reception. But, it was something special when Dhoni made a comeback of sorts at Chepauk stadium.

The people of Chennai love and adore MS Dhoni. He is, arguably, the most loved cricketer in Chennai and it is mainly because of the way he led Chennai Super Kings before it was banned for 2 years.

When Dhoni came out to bat in the first ODI against Chepauk, the crowd gave him an unbelievable reception. The entire stadium was on its feet and chanting ‘MSD MSD MSD’. We have seen this so many times in the Indian Premier League when Dhoni was the captain of CSK, but it was a great moment for Indian cricket to see the amount of love and respect the people of Chennai shower on a cricketer who is not from their state.

Dhoni has time and again said that Chennai is his second him and one of his most favourite venues to play cricket. Watch the video here:
