Colin Munro and a ballboy may have given us the most wholesome video of the PSL 2024 season when the New Zealand cricketer celebrated with the young kid who took a brilliant catch.
Even though a six was hit against Colin Munro’s team, he was elated that the ballboy had taken the catch after he had taught him the correct technique. The video has gone viral on social media and it has gotten love and adoration from fans around the world.
Munro is playing for the Islamabad United this season, and this sweet incident is from United’s latest match against Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi. United won the match by 29 runs but the social media was talking only about Munro’s special moment with a ballboy that the youngster would cherish for a lifetime.
Earlier, Zalmi’s Aamer Jamal hit a six over fine leg where the Colin Munro couldn’t reach the ball. The ballboy attempted to catch it but he grasped it. Munro quickly taught him the correct technique for hand and finger position.
Later in the 19th over, with the game all but done and dusted and in United’s pocket, Zalmi’s number 10 hit a six to the fine leg region. Once again it was out of Munro’s reach, but this time the ball boy put in a mini-slide and caught it.
Munro turned around and as soon as he realized that the ball boy had caught the ball superbly, he celebrated it by hugging him and both jumped in joy.

Colin Munro managed only 15 runs in 9 balls in the match. But United captain Shadab Khan hammered 80 runs in 51 balls while Jordan Cox and Azam Khan cracked quickfire cameos of 26 and 29. In the chase, Peshawar slipped to 18/5 and were knocked out of the game effectively there. Jamal fought with 87 but the target of 197 was too much for the youngster to scale alone.
