Former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Gautam Gambhir has picked the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as his favorite IPL team! This has left all the fans stunned. Gautam Gambhir also gave a cheeky explanation for this choice.

India’s 2011 World Cup final top-scorer, Gautam Gambhir, sat down for a fun interview with Sportskeeda recently. In the interview, the host got Gambhir involved in a rapid fire round and asked him to say ‘Wrong answers only’. This means that Gambhir had to effectively give the opposite answers.

When the host asked Gambhir his favorite IPL team, the former India batsman promptly took RCB’s name and had a wry smile.

The host further nudged Gambhir as to why he took RCB’s name. To this, the 2-time IPL winning skipper gave a cheeky response, saying: “The whole world knows about it”

Gautam Gambhir opens up on his on-field fight with Virat Kohli

Recently during the India vs South Africa ODI series, Gautam Gambhir was part of the Star Sports commentary panel. When the topic came of Virat Kohli, Gambhir honestly admitted that his fights with Kohli have been limited only on the field and they are fine off the field.

Gautam Gambhir Hailed Virat Kohli For His ‘Longevity And Consistency’

Gambhir and Kohli had their first big fight in IPL 2015 when Gambhir was KKR’s skipper and Kohli RCB’s. Earlier this year, both went head-on once again, this time Gambhir in the role of LSG’s mentor.

In a pre-match show for the India vs South Africa 3rd ODI on Friday, Gambhir was asked by host Jatin Sapru about Virat’s 50th ODI century which came during the World Cup 2023 semi-final against NZ. Sapru asked Gambhir if he remembered against which bowler Kohli completed his century. To this, Gambhir replied with Lockie Ferguson’s name.

Gambhir then had a rare smile on his face and he cleared that his “ladai” with Kohli is only limited to the cricket field.

Gautam Gambhir said: “Ye aap baar baar dikhana, mujhe sab kuch yaad rehta hai. Ladai meri sirf on the field hai(Please show this clip again and again, I remember everything. My fight is only on the field [with Kohli])”
