Bangladesh Cricket Team might have lost the T20 International series 2-0 against Pakistan but they will look to pick themselves up before they play the first test match against the hosts on February 7 in Lahore. The T20 series was not the best experience for the Tigers considering they did not have their talismanic Shakib Al-Hasan who is banned for a year by ICC and also missed experienced wicketkeeper-batsman in Mushfiqur Rahim who was not ready to travel to Pakistan owing to security issues.

However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has promised tight President level security for every team visiting their country to revive cricket back in the land. Sri Lanka were the first team to travel to the country for a T20 International series as they went mostly without their senior players but were more or less satisfied with the security level provided by the PCB. Sri Lanka then brought their experienced players for a Test series which was under the ICC Test Championships program.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) could take no chances with their players and therefore they sent officials to check the whole security system beforehand. There were issues with the safety of the players and also constant rumors of shifting to a neutral venue but Ehsan Mani, a PCB chief managed to convince his BCB counterparts to send their players to Pakistan considering they are providing higher-level state security all around.

A video has come out and has also gone viral in social media especially Youtube whee it can be clearly seen that the visiting team bus of the Bangladeshi side is surrounded by three or four vehicles from front and also the same number of vehicles are trailing the bus as it crosses a highway. It proves how the PCB has stood by their words and will go to any extent to maintain optimum security level for visiting teams in their country.

Bangladesh cricket team will return to action for the first test match at Rawalpindi on February 7 and will continue till February 11. Then after a space of two months, Mahmudullah’s men will return to play the ODI series and the second test at Karachi from April 3-9, mainly due to the Pakistani Super League commencing in between the time period.

The visiting Bangladeshi team arrived at the Gaddafi stadium with tight security of around 10,000 policemen and paramilitary guarding the team for their matches and practice sessions.

“From a security point of view, Pakistan is providing us with the best possible security and we are totally happy with the security measures in place,” Bangladesh cricket team captain Mahmudullah said to Cricbuzz.
